About Our District:

Sweet Home ISD is a Pre-K through 8th grade district located in Lavaca County between Hallettsville and Yoakum. Upon completion of their studies at Sweet Home School, students typically transfer to either Yoakum High School or Hallettsville High School. Sweet Home ISD has been rated an Exemplary District by the Texas Education Agency for three of the last five years. The district has an average enrollment of 119 students with approximately 9% Hispanic and 91% White students. There are currently nine instructional staff members and twelve support staff members. The school calendar runs from August through May and is closely aligned with the Yoakum ISD calendar to accommodate the majority of families in the Sweet Home District who have children attending Yoakum High School. Sweet Home ISD offers a variety of special programs including Pre-K, After-School Care, Title I, Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language, Special Education, and extra-curricular sports including: volleyball, flag football, basketball, track, and softball. The district also offers an after-school tutoring program and a summer program of learning on an as-needed basis. The Sweet Home Parent Teacher Organization has several fundraisers throughout the school year to support instructional programs and a scholarship program for graduates of Sweet Home School.
