Pre-K

Sweet Home ISD will again be offering a Pre-Kindergarten program for students who are four years old on or before September 1st of the current school year.  Sweet Home’s Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills for students to build upon as they begin their school years.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-Kindergarten Program in Sweet Home will not receive state funding; therefore, the district must charge tuition to help absorb the cost of providing this educational opportunity for your child.  Tuition of $1,800 per year will be charged for the half day program. Tuition payments of $180 per month will be due on the second Tuesday of the month to Mrs. Monica Turk. Pre-Kindergarten students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will not be charged tuition for Pre-Kindergarten.

Parents need to complete a registration form for the current school year and home language and migrant surveys.  In addition, they need to bring the child’s birth certificate, social security card, and immunization record to the office to register students. Students who reside in the district and siblings of approved transfers will be given priority.  All others will be enrolled on a first come-first served basis. A deposit of $100 will need to be made at the time of enrollment.  This amount will be applied to the first month’s tuition.

Parents of Pre-Kindergarten students may also decide to take advantage of the following day care options.

OPTION 1 afternoon daycare for Pre-K children from noon until 3:15 p.m. for $6 per day.  These students will be supervised by a teaching assistant employed with Sweet Home ISD.

OPTION 2 after school care for Sweet Home Students in grades Pre-K through 8.  Students will have a snack, access to the library to read and check out Accelerated Reader books, supervised time in the computer lab to complete assignments, a quiet classroom environment where they can work on their homework, and the gym and school playground where they can play with friends. These students will be supervised by approved staff members who will have administrative support in case of emergency or need. Student participation will be conditional upon following the Sweet Home ISD student code of conduct. The cost of after school care will be $5 per day from 3:15 – 5:15 p.m.

We look forward to working with you and your children, and we hope that you will take advantage of this exciting opportunity and join us in supporting the children on the road to academic excellence!
